A Few More Picures of Honduras...

Amy and I went to Honduras to spend time volunteering at a bilingual private school. This is a picture of the outside of the classrooms. The windows facing the courtyard are made of bars... the windows inside the classroom looking outside the school are made of actual glass.
The sacred computer lab had lace curtains... I just had to laugh! This is looking out over the school from the Kinder classrooms....
These are pictures from our trip that just made me laugh... so I thought I'd share!
One day we at lunch at the lady's house who runs the school cafeteria. This place was a little sketchy... the health department wouldn't have even made it past the front yard before this place was closed down. Amy was really nervous because she had a meeting with the health department before leaving the US... they informed her of all the food diseases she could get down in Honduras... she "sanitized" her hands before lunch and then sat like this to try to keep them clean! There were billions of chickens running around inside/outside as well as several litters of puppies (which were SOOOOOO sweet) and there were several sightings of doggie poo-poo (including two under our table). Our lunch menu: Beans, rice, chicken! (Served with questionably slimy silverware.) Nothing quite as exciting as adventureous food!

We had a list of things we thought would be funny to see in Honduras... kind of a picture scavenger hunt! One item on the list was "the biggest gun"... this wasn't the biggest gun, but we didn't usually feel sly enough to get pictures of the biggest guns we saw except here... this is a guard at a historic fort right next to our hotel. There were guns everywhere... especially in San Pedro Sula! There were even armed gun-men at the banks... I noticed one man in the bank had a gun that looked just like the a toy cowboy pistol complete with white handle!!
Also on the scavenger hunt: Honduras Accountants. These guys were negotiating some business deal (and even had other guys taking their picture during "the deal") so we figured they would pass as our "accountants".
Again from the scavenger hunt: Harry Potter characters. These ladies dressed in green work at the bank... all the ladies at the bank wore these exact same green suits! They reminded us of Gringott's Bank in Harry Potter!
I love taking pictures of Amy taking pictures... it just cracks me up! Here is Amy taking pictures of the school garden!
Amy taking conditions of the safe road conditions...
Amy taking pictures outside a fancy house in town...
We got to eat Baleadas (I'm not sure how they are spelled)... See the room right behind me? I'm pretty sure that was a bathroom... and the cracks between the door and the wall are big enough you could see straight into the bathroom! Thank heavens no one used the facilities while we were eating!!
A Motor-Taxi ride!! We loved taking these things!! This ride totally reminded us of the "Haunted Mansion" ride at Disneyland! What fun!! Those motor-taxi's can go anywhere!
Mmmmm! We had fruit Popsicles one hot day!! The Popsicles are made from real fruits!! SOOOOO delicious!

You guys are AWESOME! I love your stories and pictures! I am seriously impressed that you hiked all over that mountain by yourselves. I get nervous thinking I'm lost on the biking trails here in Syracuse! :)
